Prayer Beacon...
A Salvation Army Prayer Beacon is a corps that has chosen to make prayer the major emphasis of its community life and mission. A Christian community committed to love God in prayer and love people in practice.

Purposes, Principles And Practices.

Prayerful
A non-negotiable rhythm of prayer will form the heartbeat of the PB, with seasons of more intense mission & quieter, more reflective seasons. There will be commitment to partnering other churches in prayer.

Creative
A prayer room & multi-sensory prayer spaces will allow freedom of expression in prayer & be a resource to other centres.

Merciful
All members are encouraged to serve those in need with every act supported by prayer, also being a learning ministry for other centres.

Hospitable
Prayer spaces will be open as much as possible, providing a place of pilgrimage where visitors are supported in prayer as part of the daily rhythm.

Missional
PB will seek ways to become the answer to its own prayers, offering its services to the local community and finding ways to actively bless local homes & businesses. Also prayerfully supporting the work of the       Salvation Army & the worldwide Church.

Learning
PB will be a place of discipleship & training, committed to promoting prayer locally & in the UK territory. Welcoming people to share in community life, where they can learn faith & life skills . PB will host & be actively involved in local, divisional & territorial prayer events, networking with boiler rooms & other prayer beacons.

These six practices have been taken from The Boiler Room Rule compiled by 24-7 Prayer 2005.

  • Strength and restoration if you are discouraged.

Intercession, pray for:-

  • Salvation Army centres who are in areas of conflict, claim God's protection over them.
  • Politicians and leaders who are working to bring resolution to conflict.
